What’s been happening at your prison lately?

‍

Not much, just trying to find a way through each day and night with Jesus’s guidance, support and advice.

‍

I recently got considered for relevant programs in the coming months, just awaiting an answer from parole to see what my personal rehabilitation is going to look like. Also, not really taken notice of foods because I went on a ‘no meat’ diet from the start of 2026.

‍

If you could start a new program in your prison, what would it be?

‍

If I could start a program it would be safety awareness and breaking a pattern of drug use and mitigating violence and/or work prep courses.

‍

What’s something people on the outside don’t understand about prison?

‍

How a single letter/envelope, visit and money order can actually mean a lot to a person, especially if someone may have been sentenced to a long amount of time in custody.

‍

What helps you get through the hard days?

‍

I always tend to rely on guidance and advice from Jesus as the Holy Bible has answers for all of my problems period.

‍

If you could interview someone famous, who would it be?

‍

It would be Eazy-E. Eazy’s got trippy music.

‍

What do you like watching on TV?

‍

Cars. I like to watch cars or houses being rebuilt, restoration shows where an American takes vintage items and takes it apart, cleans it then restores it/repairs it.

‍

What music always lifts your mood? Why?

‍

Ben Folds – because it’s smooth, sort of like watching waves roll in.

‍

A$AP – when I need inspiration.

‍

Post Malone – when I need to vent.

‍

Female artists are therapeutic as I can’t help but be harmonised by women’s voices – MIA for starters and Florence & the Machine, Amy Shark too.

‍

The book that has stayed with me on a deep personal, spiritual level is The Holy Bible because it continues to guide me.

Homelessness, addiction, no family, turned right back to what got us here in the first place. I think this is a huge problem for especially young vulnerable women to have more support on release!

Over the past 5 years I have completed numerous courses and obtained tickets for forklift – working at heights, confined space, first aid, and test and tag.

Being an older gay man myself, I have noticed a lot of younger guys in here are maybe a little confused about their sexuality.
