The Crux

By

Belly

Belly writes from a prison in QLD.

“Family for Life” by Andrew, acrylic on canvas, available for purchase on Boom Gate Gallery

What keeps me going

What is it

It’s seeing my Mob

On a one hour visit

Givin’ my mum a hug

Even for just a second

That’s worth a lot

Worth the world I reckon

Seeing their face

When they see mine

Like being in the Matrix

Or slo-mo time

I’ve taken their love

And life for granted

I bottled up a lot

The bottles decanted

These words were formed

From pen to paper

It’s almost a year

But I’ll see you later

What keeps me going

What is it

It’s seeing my Mob

On a one hour visit

Givin’ my mum a hug

Even for just a second

That’s worth a lot

Worth the world I reckon

Seeing their face

When they see mine

Like being in the Matrix

Or slo-mo time

I’ve taken their love

And life for granted

I bottled up a lot

The bottles decanted

These words were formed

From pen to paper

It’s almost a year

But I’ll see you later

Apocalypse of the Mind

By Emma-lee

I sit here watching the second-hand ticking by as it slowly keeps passing my time... And just as I thought the world can’t be changed it's an apocalypse of the mind.
