Whispers in the Wind

By

Rachel

Rachel writes from Numinbah Correctional Centre in Queensland.

'Cosmic Couple' by Tony, available to purchase from Boom Gate Gallery

I dedicate this poem to my king Benny… May you finally Rest In Peace.

One day you’re here, the next you’re gone

There's nothing I can say that makes the pain go away.

My whispers every night never reached you it seems

Now I only see you in my vivid dreams

Our lives both torn apart by addiction and crime

We've paid the ultimate price and ran out of time.

My whispers now carry your ashes up to heaven

While my heart’s left here to ache 24/7.

By the dawn of tomorrow

A new day breaks

A world you’re no longer in

I know you’re looking down on me

I hear your whispers in the wind.....

Help Us Keep Publishing About Time

Without About Time, I don’t know where I would be – Mark, from a prison in Victoria

We need your help so that we can print and distribute the paper to every person in every prison for at least the next year. We value whatever you can spare, no matter how big or small.

Australia’s prison population is growing, and our many prisons are spread far and wide.

We need your help so that we can print and distribute the paper to every person in every prison for at least the next year. We need your help to cover postage for anyone who sends us a letter from the inside.
