The Silent Path

“The Well-Trodden Path” by Justin, 2004, acrylic on canvas, Boom Gate Gallery

On an icy day, we’ll meet again,

On a silent path, free from pain.

No greetings spoken, no sparks to fly,

Just a quiet knowing in each other’s eye.

In a fleeting second, let the past awake,

The hidden love we dared not stake.

Memories rush in, a flood so sweet,

Of whispered promises we could not keep.

Consoled by remembrance, from depths so deep,

Emerge the moments that we still keep.

From the well of the elapsed, our story told,

A love once hidden, now brave and bold.

On an icy day, we’ll meet again,

On a silent path, free from pain.

No greetings spoken, no sparks to fly,

Just a quiet knowing in each other’s eye.

In a fleeting second, let the past awake,

The hidden love we dared not stake.

Memories rush in, a flood so sweet,

Of whispered promises we could not keep.

Consoled by remembrance, from depths so deep,

Emerge the moments that we still keep.

From the well of the elapsed, our story told,

A love once hidden, now brave and bold.

Self Reflection

Often I try to self-reflect which turns into waves of rings around me. This picture reflects my days in general; life is static, surrounded by waves around.

Beyond the Steel Mesh

By Anonymous

The cage stands bold, with its steel-clad mesh. For within its grip, it’s us it holds. Ten foot walls, of cold creme concrete. For outside we muster, like horses in stalls.
