Surely You’ll Love Again

By

RM

RM writes from Brisbane Correctional Centre in Queensland.

I see the pain in your lost eyes,

And see, all your life ends in cries,

I’ve seen that you’ve been down,

I can tell the way you wear your frown,

You drink late into the morrow,

All that pain, all that sorrow,

A heart stone-cold, you can’t really mend,

Blissful mind, how did it bend?

This wall between you and I,

Can be tricky, to the blind eye,

Surely you’ll love again,

Till then I can only be your friend.

I see the pain in your lost eyes,

And see, all your life ends in cries,

I’ve seen that you’ve been down,

I can tell the way you wear your frown,

You drink late into the morrow,

All that pain, all that sorrow,

A heart stone-cold, you can’t really mend,

Blissful mind, how did it bend?

This wall between you and I,

Can be tricky, to the blind eye,

Surely you’ll love again,

Till then I can only be your friend.

Self Reflection

By Sofia

Often I try to self-reflect which turns into waves of rings around me. This picture reflects my days in general; life is static, surrounded by waves around.

Beyond the Steel Mesh

By Anonymous

The cage stands bold, with its steel-clad mesh. For within its grip, it’s us it holds. Ten foot walls, of cold creme concrete. For outside we muster, like horses in stalls.
